Monday, September 6th and we were leaving Novi Pazar and heading into a new country Montenegro. Our destination is the capital of Montenegro, Podgorica. We are very interested in Montenegro because that is where Olga’s husband’s relatives are from. Montenegro means black mountain. But before we left the city of Novi Pazar we decided to do a little shopping. There was a particular boot store the girls saw last night that we wanted to check out. So I wanted to go back to our room to get my purse but I got stuck in the elevator. I was completely stuck, could not go up or down and the doors wouldn’t open. So I pushed the alarm and nothing. I waited awhile and held the alarm button down. Finally someone heard me and got the mechanic who finally let me out. By the time I got back to where the girls were waiting for me they had all left because I had taken too long.
I did catch up to the girls because it was a small city and joined in their fun. We bought a few treasures and then went back to the hotel where Russ had loaded both cars and was waiting for us. Poor Russ is getting a lesson on females. We talk about relationships, we shop and gather. He is being fairly patient with us.
As we drive towards Montenegro we notice that the animals are walking around freely. Cows on the streets and lots of chickens everywhere. As we got closer to the border the temperature was rising which pleased us immensely. As we drove into Montenegro we at first thought that it looked a little tidier than Serbia. There are 700,000 people in all of Montenegro, that is less than the city of Victoria.
